After 10 Years of Concerts Bayou Country Superfest Announces Indefinite Hiatus

The Southern Louisiana mega country fest, Bayou Country Superfest has announced it will go on hiatus for 2020. The event hosted concerts in Baton Rouge and New Orleans for the last 10 years.

“After 10 years of bringing the best in country music to Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Bayou Country Superfest will be on hiatus until further notice. We thank the fans who came for the party, and the event sponsors who helped make the Festival a Memorial Day Weekend tradition,” the organization said in a tweet.

Bayou Country Superfest debuted in 2010, bringing together some of the biggest country stars for Memorial Day weekend at LSU’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

Due to construction at Tiger Stadium over the past few years, the event moved to the Superdome in 2017. Last year, it returned to Baton Rouge boasting a lineup that included Kenny Chesney, Flordia Georgia Line, and Dan + Shay. Festival organizers have experienced declining attendance numbers of the past few years, which is one of the leading factors of the newly announced hiatus.
