‘Twas the Night Before Christmas: Where to Eat on Christmas Eve

Happy almost Christmas Eve, New Orleans! While many restaurants will be closing up on Christmas Eve and Day to celebrate the holiday with their family’s, many restaurants will be open to serve up delicious eats. 

From Reveillon Dinners to picnic feasts, sushi and more, check out our top picks on where you and your family should dine this Christmas Eve.

Picnic Provisions & Whiskey

Do fried chicken, whiskey, s’mores sound like the Christmas Eve meal you want in your life? Then Picnic Provisions and Whiskey is for you! This Christmas Eve, their happy hour will be poppin’ from 3pm-4pm, and they will also be offering their “Tuesday Chicken Little Night” for the kiddos. From 4pm-7pm, they will be offering 2 meals for kids and craft time while you dine!

Tsunami Sushi

If you’re not feeling the typical “Christmas Eve” food fare, Tsunami Sushi is the choice for you. Their hours are limited on Christmas Eve, 11am-6pm, but that still gives you plenty of time to grab some sushi and take advantage of their baller happy hour deals! More details and their menu here

Arana

What better way to celebrate Christmas Eve/Taco Tuesday than along Magazine Street at Arana? Come imbibe before heading to your family’s festivities with HALF OFF margaritas and tacos during their happy hour. Arana will also be serving up ALL DAY BRUNCH on New Year’s Day, January 1. Check our Arana’s website here.

The Pelican Club

The Pelican Club is a perfect choice to spend your Christmas Eve if you are looking for a spot in the heart of the French Quarter. Their Reveillon Menu is also in full swing: $49 for a 4-course prix fixe with lagniappe. View their menu selections here.

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

Satisfy your po boy craving at Parkway before they close on Christmas Day! Unfortunately, they will only be open for lunch/early dinner (11am-4pm) on Christmas Eve, so stop by early if you’re trying to dine! View Parkway’s website here

Rib Room

Located in the Omni, the Rib Room is joining in on the revelry with a special Reveillon dinner. Offerings include Praline Bacon, Loaded Baked Potato Soup, Chili Glazed Grilled Prime Rib, and more. View the whole menu here! To make reservations, visit their Reservations page.

Toup’s Meatery

The Mid-City spot will be open for the first time ever on Christmas Eve for service from 11am-10pm. Toup’s full a la carte menu will be available, as well as “specialty dry-aged steaks” for $60. They will also be serving up happy hour from 2:30pm through 6pm. 

Nole

Nole is a newer spot on St. Charles that opened up earlier this year, and has easily become one of our favorites! Nole will be open on Christmas Eve, but will be closed on Christmas Day.
