On September 14th, 2019 at Beaubourg Theatre [614 Gravier St.], Producing Artistic Director Lauren E. Turner and Creative Executive Director India Mack will host a play reading of Coffee-Colored Dreams by local author and playwright Pamela Davis-Noland. The play reading is No Dream Deferred’s season-opening fundraiser kickoff and introduction into their new home.
Coffee-Colored Dreams, a love story set in New Orleans, is a bold and inspiring drama that explores issues of colorism in Black America — especially in Louisiana. Featuring two main characters Celia Dubois and Jeffrey Jackson, Coffee-Colored Dreams engages readers with personal and relatable views that speak to the soul. No Dream Deferred is bringing this story to life told by the book’s author Davis-Noland and under the stage direction of John Ray Proctor III.
The night will begin with an opening reception from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, followed by the 90-minute stage reading from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm. There will be a post-show conversation from 9:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
Tickets to this fundraiser are $40. To purchase your ticket, visit
