Some stunning news to report this morning, the new Hard Rock Hotel on South Rampart is experiencing significant structural damage and has partially collapsed.
The 18-story building was being constructed by Hard Rock International, the building called for 350 hotel rooms and assorted meeting rooms. The plans were unveiled in 2018 and the building was set to open in 2020.
At this time, multiple injuries are being reported. This is an ongoing situation, and stories are flooding in. We will update this story as more reports are shared with us.

UPDATE as of 10/12 11:24 am: There are currently 18 reported injured, 3 missing, and 1 fatality following this tragic accident.
Update #2 as of 10/13: There are now 2 confirmed deaths, with 1 person still missing. 17 of the 18 injured have been released from the hospital. The city of New Orleans conducted its second-day search and rescue today.
