Jack Rose is the Best Hotel Restaurant in America

What does it take to be the Best Hotel Bar in America? Just ask anyone affiliated with Jack Rose, the New Orleans restaurant that took home the top honor from the USA Today 10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards.

10Best, an affiliate of USA Today, delivers expert tips and information on the best places to eat, drink, and be merry. That’s a field we all know New Orleanians have the edge in. 10Best covers hotels, restaurants, travel, and attractions all around the world. USA Today editors, 10Best editors, and a panel of relevant experts drafted an initial list of 20 nominees for each Choice Award category. The readers took it from there.

If you’ve not been to Jack Rose, chances are that you know it from the countless Instagram photos posted beneath that jubilant portrait of Lil Wayne that hangs in the Living Room. The restaurant concept has a soul that’s just as New Orleans: named after Tennessee William’s The Rose Tattoo, owned by two homegrown locals, and housed in the eclectic Pontchartrain Hotel. QED Hospitality owners Emery Whalen and Chef Brian Landry cite the spirit of New Orleans as their muse for the award winning venture:

“Jack Rose is the embodiment of the type of personal connection that we wanted to share with our team and our guests. The creation of this restaurant was inspired by the city of New Orleans and its love of life and celebration.”

Jack Rose’s European menu offers dishes as unique and down home as New Orleans. We say go for the Fried Chicken Parm. Common wisdom encourages diving headfirst into some Bellegarde grits found under the Roast Duck. The restaurant faced some stiff competitors in 10Best’s Reader’s Choice—including fellow southern gem Circa 1886, of the Wentworth Mansion in Charleston. Congrats to the fellow nominees, but New Orleans is always coming out on top.

We can’t wait for our next visit to Jack Rose. Share your experience with us below.
