JAMFest: The Cure For Your Festival Season Cravings

With spring festivals delayed this year, JAMNOLA, the cultural funhouse in the Marigny, invites you to come and enjoy one of the best shows in town at their latest launch: JAMFest

JAMNOLA’s newest activation will be a fun, family-friendly event to celebrate what would have been another rocking festival season (and benefits local charities, too!)

JAMFest is happening from April 21 through May 2. The installment coincides with WWOZ’s “Festing in Place,” which JAM also sponsors. JAMFest will feature new installations, weekend street art vendors, festival food vendors at Press Street Station, and new merchandise, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting local nonprofits.

As a sponsor of WWOZ’s Jazz Festing in Place, JAMFest will also stream the “Festing in Place” broadcast – which features Jazz Fest performances recorded over the past five decades – for guests to groove to while in JAMNOLA and enjoying food and craft vendors outside.

And as pertinent supporters of the local arts in New Orleans, JAMFest also brings two new installations to the shape-shifting warehouse.

The team welcomes new, limited-edition installations from current JAMNOLA artists Josh Hailey and Jessica Strahan. Hailey will create three collages that will pay tribute to New Orleans festivals. The large collages will also be auctioned off at the end of the JAMFest run. Strahan will create large wood cut-outs in the likeness of famous New Orleans musicians.

Longing for the festival food fix? JAMNOLA is also hosting well-known festival food & drink vendors at a take-out food court at NOCCA Institute’s Press Street Station on Friday and Saturday of both JAMFest weekends. Indulge in well-known New Orleans festival staples like Dana and Christina Honn’s Carmo or AJ’s Sno- Balls. Then, cool off with tasty beverages like CoolBrew Coffee and Rosemont Ice Tea. Check out the full vendor list at www.jamnola.com.

Are you a purveyor of great festival swag?JAMNOLA is adding to their onsite retail store with art from local artists and new branded apparel. All purchases benefit local nonprofits like Feed the Second Line, Roots of Music, and New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic.

General admission tickets are $29 for adults and $20 for children. Kids ages 2 & under are free. Purchase tickets online at www.jamnola.com. Reservations are required; no walk-ins.

JAMFest will run from Wednesday, April 21, and run through Sunday, May 2.
Festival food will be available for purchase from April 23 – 24,  and April 30 – May 1.
