Jammin’ on Julia Returns This Weekend With Free Outdoor Art & Music

This weekend, the Arts District of New Orleans (ADNO) is bringing back Jammin’ on Julia, a Spring art walk + music festival hybrid event in the district.

The free, outdoor event coincides with first Saturday gallery openings, beginning on May 1st at noon.

In lieu of the traditional evening art openings and street closure for the festival, the district welcomes patrons to an all-day, rolling event featuring world class art exhibitions along Julia Street and the surrounding area, in classic New Orleans style: with music and food at your fingertips.

Patrons who visit may enjoy not only the art and music, but are invited to experience the varied and delicious cuisine offered by the many restaurants in the area. Carmo, Meril and Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar are just a few of the local gems available to choose from. Grab a dish to go and wander to and from the participating galleries under the sunset.

Musical performances by local musicians will take place in the following galleries:

LeMieux Gallery

JONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY

Arthur Roger Gallery

Callan Contemporary

Ariodante

Octavia Art Gallery

Martine Chaisson Gallery

SPILLMAN | BLACKWELL Fine Art

A map and gallery guide with an included music schedule may be picked up at any participating gallery.

In addition to the art walk, patrons can take part in a virtual auction, featuring items from the ADNO member galleries. Art lovers could potentially snag a collectible piece of art at a price well below gallery retail.

Art collectors and enthusiasts can learn more about the event, auction, and music schedule by visiting www.artsdistrictneworleans.com.
