The French Quarter is the place to be as of recent! Jewel of the South located at 1026 St. Louis Street is the newest spot to add to the bustling business in the Quarter with a new upstairs restaurant. Started by bartending dream team Chris Hannah and Nick Detrich plus John Stubbs, Jewel of the South quickly became known as a must-visit location for craft cocktails.
And now, just a year after opening Jewel of the South is a new venture for the trio: a brand-new restaurant located upstairs.
Downstairs in The Grove is signature cocktails and an intimate drinking spot with delicious small bites to match. Upstairs will be a more extensive dinner menu as well as a wine program and “classic dining experience.” Here, you can dine on an ever-changing menu featuring veg-friendly items.
“It was always our plan to open a multi-story dining and drinking destination with something for everyone. It’s been a year-long process and we’re really excited it’s finally come to fruition. We can’t wait to welcome our friends and neighbors to see the final result.”
Starters include Burrata with olive tapenade and fried shallots and Raw & Confit Endive with blood orange. Main selections include Wagyu Beef and Veal Sweetbreads. Desserts are all made in-house and include Eccles Cake, Eton Mess – a strawberry and meringue delicacy, and Couronne – a sweet baked pastry.
Guests can enjoy the two-story indoor-outdoor space as they admire the various 19th century Art Deco architecture that honors the history of the era.
