Photos: Luna Fête Festival Returns With New Socially-Distanced Exhibits and Multiple Locations

“In a year unlike any other, we present a light in the darkness.” The Luna Fête homepage presents the magical, immersive art experience as a beacon of light within the turbulent year of 2020.

Despite the restrictions and challenges of 2020, Luna Fête still prioritizes the creativity, imagination, and artistry that make up the spirit of New Orleans.

As one of NOLA’s most unique and photogenic festivals, Luna Fête connects the community to contemporary art and tech innovations. From silent disco to holographic light shows – locals always cherish the festival like a holiday spectacle.

In the past, Luna Fête was consolidated to the blocks stretching around Lafayette Square Park and into the Warehouse District. But with restrictions on large gatherings still lingering, the artist collective is switching gears.

This year, the light and technology will feature smaller installations illuminating public spaces across various corners of the city as they welcome new partners across multiple weekends.

You can access the festival’s location map here. For the safety of the city, masks and social distancing are required for viewing.

The festival runs from twilight to sunrise, Dec. 11 – 13 and 18th – 20th.

The following photos from Bryce Ell Photography showcase the magic of Luna Fete still lingering through the city, even in a time where we feel more distanced from each other than ever.
