Some of New Orleans’ Biggest Museums Offering Free Admission When Temperatures Hit 95*

Who doesn’t love free things? How about free things while beating that Louisiana heat? That’s right, The Helis Foundation has teamed up with some of New Orleans’ largest art institutions for the third year to offer free admission when temperatures hit 95* degrees.

The promotion, titled “Art & AC” is In partnership with WVUE-TV (FOX 8)’s meteorological team and will run throughout the month of August.

Whenever FOX 8 meteorologists report the temperature have hit 95-degrees, Louisiana residents gain free admission to some of New Orleans biggest museums the following day. The New Orleans Museum of Art, Ogden Museum of Southern Art and Contemporary Arts Center are the participating members of “Art & AC.”

“Summers in the South can be grueling—so we wanted to again offer a chance for Louisiana residents to cool off with their friends and families, while enjoying some of the region’s premier cultural institutions,” – Jessie Haynes, Managing Director, The Helis Foundation.

In addition to art and ac, visitors can expect to get swag bags with sunglasses, water bottles, and other goodies. For once let’s hope we see some 95* degree weather soon.
