SINCE 2014, THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY HAVE WOWED ATTENDEES WITH FOUR-NIGHTS HEADLINED BY SOME TRULY WILD VISUAL SHOWS.

As the John Paul Young song goes, “Love is the Air” as light beams dance around a couple kissing during LUNA Fête in Lafayette Square in New Orleans Thursday, December 12, 2019. LUNA stands for Light Up NOLA Arts and celebrates technology and art but also means Moon in Latin. The Moon Party or @LUNAFete is the 6th edition presented by the Arts Council of New Orleans and is free and open to the public at 6pm-10pm from Dec. 12-Dec. 15th. The main light show is projected onto the façade of Gallier Hall, but #LUNAFete2019 includes other light displays along Lafayette Street from St. Charles Ave. to Fulton Street. Joshua Smith @Jdot_Smith sat on a couch as part of his “Repainted Canvas” artwork featuring some his clothing designs projected on the canvas. Gallier Hall is the former City Hall of New Orleans and where the Mayor toasts Kings and Queens of Carnival parades that pass by including Rex and Zulu on Mardi Gras. Oh what magic we made! Come peek behind the curtains and see what happens when The Shadow Circus comes to town this weekend. Just like the circus @lunafete appears for only a few days- so don’t miss your chance to see the lights this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 – 8 pm in Lafayette Square and along Lafayette Street before they disappear.

Tonight we went to LUNA Fête, a projection mapping lights & art festival in New Orleans. It is like a mini version of Cincy’s Blink and was pretty cool. There were many interactive installations (using xbox kinects) and tons of lucky kids were being bought light up balloons (lucky adults were buying drinks in light up cups).
