Post Malone Channelling Nirvana For Tribute Concert This Friday

Post Malone will be live-streaming a concert paying tribute to Legendary Alternative Rock group Nirvana this Friday, April 24th. Viewers can expect to hear Post’s unique take on the Seattle band’s biggest hits as well some fan favorites from his own catalog.

The twenty-four-year-old rapper/singer will be taking his creativity a step further to keep fans entertained during the COVID-19 crisis. The news of this special performance broke on Wednesday when Post Malone’s twitter page posted a teaser for the performance. The video features audio from the opening of Nirvana’s “Radio Friendly Unit Shifter” off their 1993 Live and Loud performance. This comes during a significant time for Nirvana with April marking the 26th anniversary of frontman Kurt Cobain’s death.

Post Malone’s affinity for Rock music should come as no surprise to his fans. Not only is Kurt Cobain’s likeness featured as one of his several tattoos, but Post also collaborated with Ozzy Osbourne to release “Take What you Want” on his album Hollywood’s Bleeding in 2019.

Proceeds from the concert will be going towards a good cause. According to Rolling Stone, Google will match all donations raised during the concert up to $5 Million for the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization.
