Don’t feel like cooking this holiday? Lucky for you in the culinary capital, several chefs are donning their best holiday feasts for New Year’s Eve. New Orleans’ outstanding chefs are presenting three or five-course dinners with a pre-set menu.

Some include cocktail and dessert and are a great choice for an unforgettable holiday meal. Here are some of our favorite selections from restaurants around the city:

The sister restaurant to Compere Lapin, and also curated by Nina Compton, Bywater American Bistro has been receiving a ton of attention in 2018. They’ve just won Eater New Orleans’ Best Restaurant of the Year award and there’s a reason why. This “neighborhood American restaurant” shows off their contemporary casual style with the skill of a 5-star chef.

For their New Year’s Eve pre-fixe dinner, Compton has taken a spin on contemporary American seasonal flavors with a Southern twist. Offerings like Kusshi oysters and American red snapper with Crystal’s hot sauce hollandaise are sure to be a holiday for your taste buds. Chef Isaac Toups released one of the hottest cookbooks of this year, “Chasing the Gator”, and is now bringing this cajun flavor for a pre-fixe NYE dinner.

This exquisite meal comes with the opportunity to choose between 2-3 items for each course. It will be hard to decide with selections like foie gras and white truffle soup. Will you choose the aged NY strip or scallops for your main course? The five-course menu also offers wine and cocktail pairings for an additional $40 per person.

Mid-City gem (inside of an old church), Vessel NOLA, is preparing a five-course menu including a welcome glass of champagne for their New Year’s Eve festivities.

A delicate mix between contemporary and Southern dishes, the menu is certainly worth the price. Some dishes that caught our eye are the Crabmeat Bruschetta and Scallop Risotto. Aside from the Amuse and Dessert course, diners will have a choice between three options.
