Preservation Hall Jazz Band to Play First Live New Orleans Show in 16 Months

Maybe you can feel it in the air, or at least seen it on your Facebook feed. Yes, it’s true, live music is coming back to New Orleans! And we’ve recently been informed that the Preservation Hall Jazz Band is joining the growing lineup of local, live entertainment.

Although the Preservation Hall on St. Peter still awaits reopening, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band is performing at the world-famous Tipitina’s for two shows on Saturday, June 12. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be joined by Charlie Gabriel for the performance.

The limited-capacity, seated shows will begin at 7 pm and 9:30 pm. Masks are also required for entry.

Currently celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Preservation Hall Foundation protects, preserves, and perpetuates the musical traditions and heritage of New Orleans through music education, community engagement, archive conservation, care for elder musicians, and support for the entire 60-member Musical Collective. The upcoming shows at Tipitina’s will be the group’s first New Orleans live performance since February 14, 2020’s Kanaval Ball.

Tickets for this event range from $35 – $50, and maybe purchased by table/section seating ONLY – not to be sold individually. Both shows are restricted to those 21+.
