Preservation Hall Postpones 60th Anniversary Benefit Gala Concert

In the wake of Jazz fest’s cancellation, today the Preservation Hall and the Preservation Hall Foundation announced they will postpone the 60th Anniversary Celebration Concert at the Orpheum Theater until May 6, 2022. The newly scheduled event will coincide with Jazz Fest’s jubilant return.

It’s the latest in fall event cancellations to hit, among Jazz Fest and BUKU Planet B. In an effort to keep patrons safe and celebrate in a way that best honors the Preservation Hall, the cancellation decision was made.

“In addition to holding an anniversary event in a way that best protects the health of our musicians and guests, one of the most important things to us in marking this milestone was being able to celebrate it with our nearest and dearest – even when they come from the ‘farthest.'”

In an effort to revive the music scene and save tourism in New Orleans, the Pres Hall team states that they still intend to provide a compelling cause to visit New Orleans this October.

They are reportedly working with a number of local music venues and New Orleans & Company to showcase the best local music and food through a COVID-responsible series of events. Their mission is to give music lovers from near and far a reason and opportunity to experience the best of New Orleans culture while responsibly patronizing our music clubs and restaurants, supporting our musicians, and filling our hotels.

More details are reported to come very soon.
