Shorty Fest is Back at Tipitina's

The Trombone Shorty Foundation, in partnership with the Tip-it Foundation and Gia Maione Prima Foundation, has announced the return of Shorty Fest on May 2, 2022.

Shorty Fest Line-up

Shorty Fest will feature performances by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Galactic with Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, Dumpstaphunk, Dirty Dozen Brass Brand, and students from the Trombone Shorty Foundation.

“This year’s Shorty Fest is going to be epic,” said Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews. “For the first time, we’re taking it to the street with a free block party to kick off the event as we celebrate the culture of greatest city in the world, New Orleans!”

The event has expanded this year to include an outdoor block party. Local brass brands, high school marching bands, and Mardi Gras Indians will be leading the celebration on Napoleon avenue. Alongside the party, food trucks and a silent auction will take place on the neutral ground.

Cyril Neville Joins the Legends

Tipitina’s Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony will honor Cyril Neville (The Neville Brothers, The Meters, Uptown All-Stars). The honor is given musicians who are cultural icons in the community and provide countless inspiration to rising young musicians. Past recipients include Fats Domino, Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, and Galactic.

The Trombone Shorty Foundation has been uplifting the next generation of New Orleans musicians for 10 years in 2022. The foundation was founded by renowned New Orleans musician Troy Andrews, and its goal is to develop young talent, educate them about the music business, and connect them to the city’s unique music and cultural heritage.

Shorty Fest is for all adults 18+ with general admission ($100) and VIP ($300). All guests will need to provide their Covid-19 vaccination card or proof of a negative PCR test within the previous 72 hours.

The celebration starts at 8:00 pm on May 2 at Tipitina’s. Get your tickets HERE before it’s sold out!
