Trombone Shorty, Mannie Fresh, & More To Play Free Concert Tonight For Mayor’s ‘Ballot of Yes’

Mayor LaToya Cantrell is hosting a free get-out-the-vote concert today with Dumpstaphunk, Trombone Shorty, The Soul Rebels, Tarriona “Tank” Ball and tons more.

The “Turnup, Turnout!”  is set to start tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Fulton Street and is open to the public. There is an added bonus involved if you RSVP, as those that do will be entered to win lunch with New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

The block party is a rally for the Saturday, Nov. 16, elections, which will feature several ballot measures supported by Cantrell and will also include the governor’s race between John Bell Edwards and Republican challenger Eddie “Phony” Rispone.

The Mayor is encouraging a “Ballot of Yes” on the following measures: “A human rights commission amendment, adjusting the tax visitors pay when staying in short term rentals, initiating a bond sale to support infrastructure funding, and starting a new maintenance fund.”

Mannie Fresh, Shamarr Allen, 5th Ward Weebie, N.O.B.A.B.E, and Tank will join Dumpstaphunk, Trombone Shorty, and The Soul Rebels and Tank for an epic night of free music to support a great cause!
