You Can Get Dorito-Crusted Rolls & Cajun-Style Sushi at Tsunami Sushi in New Orleans

Sushi is everywhere in New Orleans. In a city that loves cajun and creole cooking, some of the best Sushi in the south is right here in the Big Easy. But, there is one spot in New Orleans that doesn’t take the traditional approach to sushi.

Tsunami Sushi is tucked away in the CBD of New Orleans, and prides themselves on β€œLA flair with southern care.” By showcasing regional and global flavors with traditional Japanese sushi and entrees, Tsunami has established itself as our one and only sushi destination.

New Orleans was born out of a blending of cultures, and that’s exactly what they do at Tsunami. Fried Oysters, panko-crusted Alligator, & spicy Crawfish are not your typical menu items found inside just any sushi roll, but Tsunami proves that they stray away from the pack.

Last but certainly not least, their world-famous rolls include heaters like the Dorito-crusted sushi roll, the Big Easy roll, and of course, the Saints-inspired Black and Gold roll. Most of these great items are why we love β€œLA flair with southern care.”

Breaded and Deep Fried! At @tsunamineworleans @fitfoodie_nola and I were introduced to this dearly loved Japanese dish ‘Pork Tonkatsu’. A crispy, light, and airy panko crusted thin sliced pork loin which was packed with spices. Just under the slices of pork, sat a sweet and simple Sweet Potato Hash that was sauteed with onions and fresh green beans. What’s better with Sweet Potato Hash? A Fried Egg! A crispy bottom and runny yolk fried egg topped with red pepper. This dish was filled with so many layers and textures, a truly beautiful thing! _________________________________ The 5forks_foodie Experience Score: 🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴 #5forks_foodie approved! _________________________________ #evieeats #nolablogger #nolafood #nolafoodie#dailyfoodfeed #myfab5 #nolafoodgramotw#nolaeats #eatnola #foodism #eeeeats #eeeeeats#foodie #foodies #foodblogs #foodblogeats#eatingnola #foodbloggers #foodblogging#foodblogger #foodielicious #foodielove #foodielife#feedfeed #foodinspiration #foodinspo #eaternola#forkyeah #foodfeed
