White Linen Night Returns to the Warehouse District This August

After a year of virtual restructuring, the iconic white linen night returns to the new Orleans warehouse district for 2021.  The event will take place on August 7th, in conjunction with the First Saturday art walk.

After 2020’s “White Linen Light” encouraged art enthusiasts to enjoy the event through digital auctions and safely visiting galleries in Downtown New Orleans, the city returns to the in-person festival for 2021.

The returning event will take place from 6 – 9 p.m. on August 7th, and find its home on the 300-600 blocks of Julia Street in the historic Warehouse Arts District. It will also include museums and institutions in the immediate area.

“The 20 contemporary art galleries & institutions which compose the Arts District are eager to welcome guests back to visit and view their exhibitions in person at this highly-anticipated annual event.”

For White Linen Night, each gallery presents new exhibitions, including world-class art installations from a multitude of talented artists. In addition to the Julia Street art walk event, The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) and The Ogden Museum of Southern Art will also open their doors and unveil new exhibitions.

As it’s written in the name, guests are strongly encouraged to don their white linen for the night. It’s a sight to see hundreds of New Orleanians strolling down Julia St. dressed in all white. Event goers can also enjoy food and drink from local vendors, and art-centered street activations.

As the event closes, guests are invited and encouraged to make their way to White Linen Night after party. Presented by the CAC, After Dark is an after-party for the community event that goes until 11 p.m.

This year, a new title sponsor signs on to the event with ADNO, Fidelity Bank. President and CEO of Fidelity Bank Chris Ferris says the institution is proud to sign on as a sponsor and support ADNO in helping this signature event return to New Orleans.

“While the events of the last 15 months have presented some challenges for this year’s event, we are grateful that with this new partnership with Fidelity Bank,” says Leslie-Claire Spillman, ADNO President. “We are able to welcome guests back to the district for the event we all know and love; a night of food, drink, fun, and most importantly ART.”
