Since the Copper Vine replaced Happy’s Irish Pub last September, the CBD wine-pub has been red hot, delivering an upscale experience without all the pomp. The weather might be cooling off, but the Copper Vine is not. This November the “Between the Vines” dinner series continues with five-new courses and a feature from Miner Family Winery.
The event takes place on November 14th, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The menu, prepared by Chef de cuisine Amy Mehrtens accompanies several selections from the Napa Valley family winery. Sommelier Lydia Kurkoski selected the producer. If you’re a hockey fan, Miner wines might sound familiar, because they are the official winery of the NHL, often crafting limited releases for teams and events. Miner producers around 25 different wines a year, so batches are relatively small and specialized. “Between the Vines” promises to be an intimate pairing of these special wines with an exceptional food selection.
The menu for this event looks enticing and features ingredients that highlight our region. Lump Crab and Bowfin Caviar served with Smoked Carrot Pot de Creme, pairs with a Wild Yeast Chardonnay. A light second course. The offerings get richer from there: Duck Confit and pumpkin Parisian Gnocchi are matched with a Merlot that delivers toasty oak and spice notes derived from volcanic soil. Filet and scallops and poached pear grace the menu across other courses, alongside other inventive flavors. You can find the full menu here, and tickets, here.
