Jank Setup are back with a new single. But unlike some of their previous, party-heavy tracks, the New Orleans group shows us a softer side.
After releasing the impressively infectious “Can’t I” in September, the track “Shy” is a change-up for Nola’s notorious house party band. While still smooth and rhythmic, this love song croons and soothes, unlike some of their previous tracks.
It’s still laced with the impressive vocal abilities of singer Kentro Mason Jr. and the masterful musicianship of the band. It’s a playful but sophisticated side of the steadily rising group.
“Shy calls out to the person inside each of us who struggles to find the strength to release their inhibition. Love is out there in every form – you just gotta open your eyes and grab it. ”

Rest assured, their intoxicating, high energy, party-like performances are still here to stay. After packing out local venues Tipitina’s and Gasa Gasa with some of their loyal fans, the five-piece is steadily climbing to the top of local music.
Later this month, the band will bring a special Janksgiving show to Gasa Gasa. It’s sure to be another full house after they packed out the venue last February.
