You don’t have to ask New Orleanians twice if they’d be down for a Masquerade Parade. The answer is, of course, always yes. Throw in our homegrown, swamp funk fellas from the Iceman Special and that turns in to a solid hell yes.
The New Orleans-based trio is debuting their sophomore album with an extra special party at the Joy Theater this Friday, September 20th.
With performances from New Thousand, People Museum, and DJ Doug Funnie, it’s an all-star New Orleans musical cast to celebrate a very special evening. If that weren’t enough, listed special guests include members of Naughty Professor, Khris Royal, Ross Hoppe Music, Johnny Sansone, and Kassie Miele.
The four-piece headliner known as The Iceman Special debuted with their self-titled album last year. Their blend of funk ‘n’ groove screams major New Orleans energy. Throw in some disco and good old rock ‘n roll and you’ve got some seriously danceable jams with a little edge.
Copies of the album will be available to purchase at the show. And don’t forget your masks and costumes. It is, after all, a Masquerade Parade.
Doors are at 7 pm and the show is at 8 pm. This is an all-ages show. General admission tickets start at $15. Get them here.
