LSDream and Shlump Bring Space Age Bass to New Orleans This Friday

After dazzling 8,000 fans at the inaugural Wakaan Music Festival, Shlump and LSDream are bringing The Universal Wub Tour to New Orleans’ Joy Theater this Friday.

The pair are something of a complementary duo. LSDream excels in sparkling, dreamy drifts in sound design, replete with airy vocals and thumping hip-hop backbeats. Shlump, on the other hand, is an aggressive photon cannon of sound, operating in apocalyptic glitch and smoky trap experiments.

The pair are no strangers to New Orleans. They helped bring Joy Theater to the ground when Wakaan hosted a special takeover after BUKU Music and Art Festival. Not ones to retread old ground, both Shlump and LSDream seem to have plenty of unreleased music to share, including a wonderful ID produced together we’re anxious to hear in full.

Of all the artists at Wakaan, few sets were buzzed about quite like LSDream and Shlump. They are two performances almost ubiquitously mentioned in online talk of favorite sets of the weekend. That’s including label boss and festival host Liquid Stranger.

We were impressed at the BUKU takeover, we were stunned in Arkansas for Wakaan, and barely a week later, we’re dying to see more. That’s a testament to the catchy sound design and versatility these artists are capable of. Joined by Florida’s Mystic Grizzly, who we covered opening for Jantsen, this is going to be one bill not to miss.
