We’re continuing our coverage on STS9’s two-day run this weekend at The Filmore Theater! This Friday, a true OG to the game, Paper Diamond is hosting a late night after party at the House of Blues New Orleans. Grab your tickets here!
Paper Diamond, also known as Alex Botwin, got his start about ten years ago with the livetronica act PNUMA. PNUMA returned to the stage for the first time in nearly 10 years to open for STS9 in late 2018. This weekend, their paths cross again as he is one of STS9’s Saturday night show’s talented openers. Expect the Paper Diamond live band to be a mix of jam, funk, and otherworldly sounds.
Holograms
Away from his live project, Paper Diamond returned to the spotlight in 2018 creating after a long hiatus. River Beats featured his Holograms LP last June on our main site. The album was a fantastic journey that showcased a collection of tunes that highlighted the diverse, avant-garde style, quality, and expertise of Paper Diamond.
While Holograms was easily one of our favorite albums of 2018, we are even more excited to see Paper Diamond feature his new and old music with a live band.
Along with Paper Diamond experimental live band, STS9’s very own Alana Rocklin has a one hour DJ set planned. This is a unique experience on its own, and should be cherished as a once-in-a-lifetime night.
Whether you’re headed to STS9 this weekend, or just looking to hear some top-notch quality music, the ONLY place you should be late night Friday is the House of Blues New Orleans! Doors open at midnight, with the show to kick off shortly after!
Tickets are available here.
