Businesses & Residents Step Up to Help Out Displaced Sucre Employees: Full List

We all saw it unfold yesterday on Social Media. The New Orleans boutique dessert shop Sucre called it quits after 13 years. The sudden closure came without any notice to the public or staff.

Sucre issued an abrupt statement on June 17th, announcing they were closing their doors efficiently immediately. Since their announcement, there have been dozens of New Orleans businesses and residents who have taken to social media to offer help to former Sucre employees.

The company employed up to 80 people the day it closed down. Without any prior warning or even a small severance, all the employees unfortunately lost their jobs. Over the past 24 hours, New Orleans residents have rallied the Sucre employees and given out a reaching hand.
