Making his return on River Beats NOLA today is New Orleans singer-songwriter, Brock Wimberley. We last covered in 2023, when he released his EP “Here and Now.” And today he is back, as he unveils “Magnolia Trees,” the lead single from his forthcoming debut album, The Collected Stories of Brock Wimberley.
Rooted in the sights, sounds, and memories of New Orleans, the track reflects on young love, hometown nostalgia, and the people and places that continue to shape us long after we’ve moved on. Serving as both an introduction to the album and its emotional closing chapter, “Magnolia Trees” sets the tone for a collection of songs built around interconnected stories and personal experiences.
Wimberley began writing music after teaching himself piano during the pandemic, and since then has released several singles, including “Midnight on Royal Street,” “Velvet Lines,” and “Macauly Culkin,” along with his Here and Now EP.
His debut album features ten original tracks that blend Southern storytelling with modern pop melodies, layered vocal arrangements, and influences reminiscent of classic American songwriters. Wimberley is the sole writer, arranger, and producer of the project, which features the tracks:
- The Bells of St. Dominic
- False Summer
- Completely Irresponsible
- Michelangelo
- The King of New Orleans
- Boy on the Side
- Grenadine
- Keys on the Dresser
- Legends of the Fall
- Magnolia Trees
With The Collected Stories of Brock Wimberley, the New Orleans native introduces himself as a compelling new voice in Louisiana’s music scene, crafting songs that feel equally literary and cinematic while celebrating the city that inspired them. “Magnolia Trees” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
