It’s finally happening.
The BUKU Music & Arts Project from New Orleans is taking its funky personality to the streets at this year’s Beauty of BUKU Artwalk Exhibition that will be held downtown Lafayette on February 11.
The exhibition will feature local up-and-coming painters, graphic designers, and photographers with whose pieces were inspired by The BUKU Music & Arts Project. Show your support for local artists and enjoy the amazing food and drink selection provided by Steam Press Coffee Café.
We received a quote from event curator Mary Cormaci on the goals and vision of this project:
“The overall mission of the exhibition is to support our local creative community and the gathering that reinforces that bond every year – BUKU! The Lafayette monthly downtown ArtWalk attracts a huge crowd, and the Laffy Krewe is happy to bring the BUKU love to our streets.
The festival’s celebration of vibrant street art culture will be the inspiration for the exhibition pieces.”
The local artists that will be featured include Maya Jane Jevans (graphic design), Mary Cormaci (photography), Bailey Murphy (paint), Megan Holland (Project Auri showcase), and Alex Gachassin (graphic design & paint).
Rumor has it they are also giving away a BUKU Music + Art Project GA wristband to one lucky art appreciator! The event is free and more information can be found here as well as RSVP.
