Nick Swardson Takes Hell Yes Fest New Orleans to the Next Level

A few weeks ago, Hell Yes Fest took over New Orleans with a two week stretch of comedy shows one after another hosting huge names across several incredible venues. One of the highlights of the festival was Nick Swardson. He performed at the Joy Theater on October 14th. Swardson, known for his roles in Adam Sandler films, was a highly anticipated performance.

The Openers

The show began with four openers before Swardson. The first opener was Sean Joyce from Washington D.C.. Joyce had a confidant presence and got the crowd in a laughing mood. The second opener was female comedian Vanessa Gonzalez. Gonzalez was very edgy but that did not keep the crowd from enjoying it. James Hamilton was the third comedian to come out. It turns out Hamilton is a New Orleans native but now lives in New York. The final opener before Swardson was Patrick Keane. Patrick seemed to be a veteran and worked the crowd very well for the headliner.

Nick Swardson

Swardson’s performance was very energetic. He opened up joking about his previous intoxicated visits to the city. Shortly after his opening joke an audience member in the front row screamed out, “Take your shirt off!” Swardson replied saying, “That would be bad for everyone.” The fan the shouted, “Take your shorts off!” The comedian answered back quickly, “What are you at a Bon Jovi concert?!” The crowd erupted with laughter.

Swardson went on to talk about any subject you could think of. He joked about just turning 4o, being drunk, doing cocaine, and even men marking their territory via pubes on the urinal. The full house at the Joy was laughing the whole night. See more photos from Nick Swardson at Hell Yes Fest New Orleans.

Catch Swardson in Flagstaff on November 4th at the Prochnow Auditorium.
