The Manning Family Cancels 2020 Manning Passing Academy Due To COVID-19

Another one bites the dust. The popular passing academy held annually in Louisiana was canceled today. The Manning Passing Academy was scheduled for next month on the campus of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.

In a letter posted on the camp’s website co-founder Archie Manning explains why the need to cancel this year.

โ€œIn response to the COVID-19 crisis, the current Louisiana policy states that no sleepover camps will be allowed until further notice. Additionally, all recreational camps and leagues in Thibodaux have been canceled throughout the summer. There are times in the game when you have to call an audible, and Iโ€™m disappointed to say that we are going to have to call one now and postpone this yearโ€™s camp to comply with the next state of guidelines set forth by the state and the City of Thibodaux.โ€ – Archie Manning

The camp was planning to host 1,200-plus attendees and, 200-plus coaches, trainers, and support staff. The letter on the Mannings’ website says all campers scheduled to attend in 2020, will be rolled over into the 2021 camp. The 2021 camp will be held on June 24-27 2021.
