Morning Call Served its Last Beignet & Cafe au Lait on Sunday Night

Morning Call, a City Park staple since 2012, must now find a new home to serve their famous beignets and cafe au lait. On Sunday, January 20, Morning Call served the last orders to friends and regulars saying their goodbyes.

Cafe du Monde will move into the space after a long legal battle regarding the much sought-after location. They plan to reopen as a coffee and beignet stand after a 90-day renovation.

Morning Call has been a part of New Orleanians hearts for over 150 years. It started at the French Market and then moved to the City Park location in 2012. They will be closing the business until they find a new location. However, owners are hopeful that they will be back better than ever.

Many regulars are upset over the news the closing of City Park location because it was their favorite spot to catch up and see people, “it was old New Orleans”.

Goodbye Morning Call at City Park – it was a great place to stop after Christmas in the Oaks and warm up with some beignets and cafe au lait. We will miss you!
