The 36th Annual New Orleans Film Festival, presented by Andscape, is kicking off this fall on October 23-27, 2025. This year’s festival kicks off at the Mahalia Jackson Theater with Michalopoulos: The Art of Celebration, a new feature documentary exploring the life and work of beloved New Orleans artist James Michalopoulos. His whimsical houses and glowing skies have defined the visual spirit of the city, and now his story comes to the big screen.
133 Films in Competition
Out of 3,700+ submissions from 125 countries, NOFF has curated a powerful lineup of 133 films, including 27 features (16 documentaries, 11 narratives) and 106 shorts. Screenings will take place at iconic venues across the city: The Broad Theater, CAC, The Prytania, Mahalia Jackson Theater, and more. Users can also stream virtually through NOFF’s online cinema Oct. 23–Nov. 2.
The 2025 New Orleans Film Festival: A Landmark Partnership with Andscape
NOFF is proud to announce a new 3-year partnership with Andscape, The Walt Disney Company’s Black-led content studio. The collaboration launches with the exclusive premiere of STAY, a supernatural thriller directed by Jas Summers, starring Megalyn Echikunwoke and Mo McRae.
