As the summer heat and slow-season begins to wind down, the city of New Orleans jumpstarts their “Be a Tourist in Your Own City” campaign. To inspire adventure and curiosity in residents and tourists alike, city-wide events and deals coax people out in to the city.
One of the campaign’s efforts includes “New Orleans Museum Month.” For the month of August, participating museums are offering free admission. As long as you’re a member of one of the participating institutions, your entry to all the others will be free. Membership prices vary based on the museum. We’ve included the museum websites below with the list of participating museums. Check membership pricing for those you might be interested in.
Another cool, August perk for the “Be a Tourist in Your Own City Campaign” is the COOLinary dining promotion event. For the month of August, over 100 notable local restaurants are participating in the discounted foodie deal.
We know it’s easy to stay parked in front of your A.C. units all month. But brave the heat and check out some of the wonderful, cultural opportunities Nola has to offer!
