After Several Delays, New Terminal at Louis Armstrong Airport To Open In Early November

It’s been talked about for nearly three years now, and finally, the new terminal at Armstrong Airport is set to open sometime early next week. After multiple delays due to infrastructure concerns, the brand new terminal has finally seen the green light to open on November 6, 2019! Mayor Cantrell recently reflected on the project, saying this is a great day for our city.

β€œThe economy of the City is diversifying and thriving and this new facility will accommodate the increased traffic being attracted to the area. The new airport terminal is the largest infrastructure project for New Orleans since the Superdome and we look forward to providing our residents and visitors with a new and improved airport experience.” – Mayor Cantrell

The new terminal, which spans 972,000 square feet will feature three concourses, 35 gates, and two new parking garages. It will also include more than 40 food, beverage, news, gift and retail options for visitors. We previously covered what restaurants would be found in the terminal, you can see that piece here. Those that are preparing to travel in early November, you should arrive nice and early to handle any unexpected delays with the new terminal.
