The Post-Jazz Fest depression and recovery has commenced, but everyone knows the best way to get over something is through the art of distraction. Fortunately for you, this week’s event list is here just in time with several events to keep you busy this week as to avoid the downward spiral of a week lacking in crawfish Monica, dad shirts, and Summer Shandy in the hot oppressive sun. What we won’t be lacking for the rest of the week? Live music, more shows, some boozy events, and a little self-care.
Monday, May 9
Recovery day. But, if you find anything worthy of resurrecting from our recovery day, let us know!
Tuesday, May 10
Give Them Lala: The Brand New Tour: Calling all Bravo stans! Vanderpump Rules star and Bravolebrity Lala Kent makes a pit stop in New Orleans, hopefully to spill the tea on her TV show and castmates. But, there’s only one way to find out: buy tickets to her unfiltered show at the Joy Theater.
Sunset Soirée: Rooftop Yoga at the Roosevelt Hotel rooftop: One wholesome night in New Orleans does a body good. It’s called balance. Starting at 6:30, Footprints to Fitness hosts a hip hop-inspired yoga/pilates/barre fusion class at The Roosevelt’s rooftop pool, where guests can also mingle, enjoy healthy refreshments from the evening’s special menu, and take advantage of the hotel’s rooftop amenities. Tickets are $25, so be sure to RSVP ahead of time.
Wednesday, May 11
Wednesday at the Square: Get your festival (albeit lite) kick at WATS’s weekly free concert series, which continues with performances by Alexis and the Samurai and Andrew Duhan at Lafayette Square from 5 – 9 p.m. Afterwards, make your way to Virgin Hotels New Orleans‘ rooftop pool for the official after-party with tunes by DJ Taf.
Thursday, May 12
Chelsea Handler: Vaccinated and Horny Tour: Times have been tough lately, but there’s nothing like comedy to ease the pain and tension in today’s world. Don’t miss the comedian’s latest tour and hilarious take on life at the Orpheum Theater. Snag tickets ASAP!
Sylvan Esso: Catch the popular duo at The Fillmore as they tour to promote their latest album. You can catch our take on what you can expect. Grab your tickets to this can’t miss experience before you miss out!
Jenn Howard Band at The Virgin Hotel: Dinner and cocktails at The Virgin Hotel is always a good idea, but adding live music to the experience is an even better idea. Check out the Jenn Howard Band to kick off your weekend (because it’s basically the weekend, right?). We recommend making reservations for this one.
Friday, May 13
A Night with Janice Joplin: A Night with Janis Joplin is a musical celebrating the queen of Rock and Roll herself, along with her biggest influences like icons Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone, and Bessie Smith. Tickets start at $25.
Saturday, May 14
Rosé Fest at Bacchanal: After a two-year hiatus, Bacchanal’s popular Rosé Fest is back for its 13th annual celebration a.k.a since before “yes way rosé” was a thing. From 2 – 5 p.m., guests can taste from 50+ rosés while enjoying live music in Bacchanal’s patio. Entry is $25, pre-sale tickets will be available at the wine shop starting Monday, May 9th.
Mudbugs and Bubbles at The Ritz-Carlton: What pairs well with unlimited crawfish? Unlimited Veuve Clicquot, of course. Pinkies up while you pinch the tail for this annual experience at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. The cost is $185 a person, and reservations are available at OpenTable.
New Orleans Ballet Theatre’s Swan Lake: Get your culture on with NOBT’s production of the stunning and popular ballet, Swan Lake. It’s playing at The Orpheum Theater this weekend only. Tickets available on Ticketmaster.
Magazine Street Champagne Stroll: Name a better duo than shopping while drinking. We’ll wait. Shop after hours along Magazine Street from 5- 9 p.m. with sales, bites, drinks, and music provided by all your favorite local Magazine Street shops.

Yoga on the Rooftop: You can’t go into the new week without practicing some self-care, so we recommend The Virgin Hotel for the four M’s: movement, mocktails, mimosas, and massages. The $40 ticket includes a one-hour yoga class, a mocktail or mimosa, and an all-day pool pass. Space is limited so grab your ticket and RSVP ASAP.
