Looking for a space-aged New Years block party celebration to ring in 2019? The Drifter and SHFT Productions have you covered with a holiday shebang unlike anything the Drifter has ever done before.
The Big Bang is an “immersive art experience” designed to take Mid City’s favorite trop-bar and turn it into a spectacle. With an expanded layout that’s 3x the bar’s original size, Big Bang will host multiple local artists, six different bars, acrobats and performers, and a cosmic glow party.
Performances include local favorites New Thousand, Unicorn Fukr, Jonah Tobias, The Quickening and many more.
The Drifter correlated with SHFT Productions to bring the big scale event to life. They aim to create unique, participatory events that infuse music, art, collaboration, and play.
As a collaborative art and performance group, SHFT and the Drifter are offering volunteer positions for the Big Bang NYE Event. In exchange for working volunteers can earn free tickets or food and drink tokens. People interested in volunteering should fill out this volunteer form.
Tickets are $40. Tier 1 and Christmas special tickets sold out earlier this month. VIP packages start at $80 and include special bar access, exclusive burlesque performance and the exclusive comforts of Opulentus.
