One of the most coveted locations on the New Orleans Lakefront will take on new ownership as soon as mid-June. On Monday, May 28, Brisbi’s had its last hurrah for Memorial Day. In a few weeks, Felix’s Oyster Bar will take its place. This will be Felix’s Oyster Bar’s third location, their most famous is the French Quarter location with another in Gulfport, MS.
Brisbi’s first opened in 2013, the same year as neighboring local restaurant Blue Crab. For five years they’ve boasted one of the best lakefront views in the city. It’s obvious why Felix’s wanted to pick up such a juicy location and they are eager to open. The menu will be favorites from their Gulfport eatery featuring seafood poboys, different pastas, and of course, raw AND chargrilled oysters.
Felix’s Oyster Bar will turn the restaurant around quickly. They have offered all of the current staff to keep their jobs, so you may see some familiar faces! Since Brisbi’s is still new construction (only built in the last 5 years), most of the changes will be cosmetic and put the “Felix” touch on the place.
