Music Habitat will officially launch in New Orleans on Friday, September 25, introducing a new platform designed to connect independent artists, songwriters, venues, and fans within one digital ecosystem.
Artists can use the platform to create profiles, book shows, sell merchandise, stream performances, receive tips, license music, and communicate directly with fans. Music Habitat says artists will retain 100% of revenue generated through bookings, tickets, tips, and merchandise, excluding applicable payment-processing fees.
Venues will have access to ticketing, audience communication, analytics, and StageBid, a booking system that connects them with artists, private clients, and event organizers. Fans can discover nearby performances, follow artists, receive show alerts, purchase tickets, send tips, and watch livestreams. Songwriters will also have access to virtual writing sessions, collaboration tools, direct licensing, and royalty tracking.
Founder and CEO Brandon Beard created Music Habitat after watching his father work as a traveling musician without the support or infrastructure needed to build a sustainable career. That experience shaped the company’s mission to give independent artists greater ownership while making booking and discovery easier for the entire music community.
Music Habitat will celebrate its launch with a free event at Hangar 33 on Thursday, September 24, from 6–10 p.m. The event will feature platform demonstrations and performances by T-Ray the Violinist, Alfred Banks, Sess 4-5, Hondo & Xsomnia, DJ Paige, DJ Evan, DJ Mig, and Surco. Admission is free, but an RSVP is required.
The company is also launching Habitat Sessions, a performance and interview series featuring independent artists, venue stories, songwriter conversations, and music-culture discussions. The series will be filmed through a partnership with FoxDog Studios in Baton Rouge.
Music Habitat will begin in New Orleans before expanding nationally in 2027. Artists, venues, songwriters, and fans can create free profiles at MusicHabitat.com, while launch-event reservations are available at MusicHabitat.com/the-launch.
