Fans of bass music and religious puns rejoice – Church* New Orleans is launching its highly-anticipated Missionary Tour this Sunday, March 26th.
The tour is led by Unicorn Fukr and event production company Horn & Tail, and features an expansive array of special guests such as UK dubstep pioneer Loefah, Dirtybird artist Mark Starr, dubstep OG Youngsta, and DJ duo Truth.
In addition, several Church* resident artists will join in on the tour. MC Werd2Jah, Kidd Love, and Zander make up some of the supporting cast at certain cities.
The Missionary Tour covers an eclectic mix of US cities, with stops in New York, Detroit, Atlanta, and more.
Church*, held on Sundays at Dragon’s Den, is currently the longest-running weekly electronic music series in New Orleans. Going on for 6 years and counting, the series has garnered notoriety throughout the world. In 2017 alone, guest DJs have included established names and rising stars alike, such as Dirtybird co-founder Worthy, Psymbionic, CloZee, Chimpo, Thelem, and The Widdler. The upcoming lineup of artists include Thriftworks, Stanton Warriors, Om Unit, and more.
Unicorn Fukr is fresh off a stellar double set at Buku Music & Art Project in early March. This versatile DJ and producer is having a huge year, and continues to gain momentum. Word seems to have gotten around, too, as Unicorn Fukr is scheduled for several upcoming summer festivals.
Unicorn Fukr has a reputation for mixing up a wide range of electronic music subgenres. His funky house set from the Buku Music & Art Project, embedded below, is proof of his versatility.
