Two of dance music’s biggest stars are invading The Big Easy this weekend, and this is your chance to see them live and in action.
There is something special about Halloween weekend in NOLA. The decorations are endless, the weather has finally cooled down, and the music is louder than ever. From small one-day festivals to endless events and shows, October brings out the best in New Orleans music.
One event we’ve had circled for some time now is The Metropolitan’s & AMPS Event’s annual Halloween Party, Fright Night. If you’ve been around NOLA for the past few years, you know Fright Night always has a ridiculous party with world-class DJs headlining. In 2018 Porter Robinson graced us with an ultimate DJ set, followed by the fan favorites Krewella in 2019. 2020 was a year break due to COVID, but Fright Night returned in 2021 with the one and only Diplo.
And while those two alone could headline any real dance festival in the country, Fright Night did not hold back this year as they welcome the OG Kaskade, and one of NOLA’s favorite bass DJs of the past seven years, NGHTMRE.
Night One w/ Kaskade
Kaskade takes on the Metropolitan on Friday, October 28. A titan of the industry 2022 has seen a resurgence from Kaskade and his new “Duo” with deadmau5, Kx5. The pair released the number one most-played song on US Dance Radio this year, “Escape.”
Night Two w/ NGHTMRE
On Saturday, October 29, NGHTMRE and Trivecta sit atop the bill for Fright Night. NGHTMRE has been a staple of the NOLA bass scene. His seamless blend of trap and future bass in 2016 catapulted him to stardom, and NOLA has been one of his favorite cities to play in since. Supporting the Saturday bill is Trivecta, a Florida-based producer with a self-described goal of “making dubstep beautiful again.” New additions to this show feature DJ Taf, Pretty Nasty, Goofy, & DJ Wixx.
If you are still in need of Halloween plans, Fright Night might be the spook fest you need. Fright Night kicks off at 9 PM this Friday 10/28. Tickets are still available. You can purchase them here!
