Bayou Boogaloo just announced their Friday night surprise headliners and did not disappoint! Anders Osborne and The Suffers will be gracing the main Boogaloo stage Friday, May 17 — the first night of Bayou Boogaloo. Fans are ecstatic and can’t wait for one of the best free festivals New Orleans has to offer.
They will be performing alongside some major acts in music and some NOLA favorites. Cowboy Mouth, Amanda Shaw, Raw Oyster Cult, and Erica Falls will also be there singing their hearts out! And that’s just to name a few.
The music lineup is only half the fun of Bayou Boogaloo anyway! Make sure to bring your kayak, canoe, paddleboard, raft, or any other vessel you want to have with you in the water. Pro tip: I wouldn’t bring anything that you have to actually touch the water to be in – Bayou St. John is not my ideal swimming hole. Especially after a day or two of Boogaloo.
One more thing! Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! You’ll thank me later for this. Even if it’s cloudy, three days at Boogaloo and you will be burning. Protect your scalp as well! Hats are a great idea!
There will be plenty of kickass vendors and volunteer booths to check out as well! There will be art & jewelry vendors, food & drink booths, and some fantastic causes to learn more about.
Please consider donating to the Friends of Bayou St. John.
If you live in the area you may want to consider becoming a member. Memberships start as low as $30 and come with discounts to several Midcity restaurants and shops.
Enjoy your weekend Bayou Boogalooans, and if you’re feeling like more fun stop by D-Macs for Dohm Collective’s Dohmacs event! Musical performances provided by New Thousand and several local up & comers.
