Kicking off Mardi Gras Weekend 1 this Saturday is none other than the Krewe of Pygmalion! Founded in 1999, the Carnival veterans created Krewe of Pygmalion to “provide a high-quality parade during the first week of the Mardi Gras season.” Following their parade along the traditional St. Charles Avenue route, the Krewe plans to keep the fun going with Pygmalion Fest featuring Big Gigantic and Lil Jon at the Sugar Mill!

If you missed Chewbacchus and Krewe du Vieux the last two weekends, then Pygmalion Fest is the perfect place to kick off your Mardi Gras spirits. Each year, Pygmalion follows their parade with a fun concert party bringing acts ranging from The Ying Yang Twins to Big Freedia. For the 2022 edition, they went big with livetronica duo Big Gigantic and hip-hop artist Lil Jon. The event is 18+, and doors open at 9pm.

Tickets are starting at $45 for general admission. If you’re wanting to GO BIG, VIP is available including:

About Krewe of Pygmalion

The Krewe of Pygmalion takes its name from the Greek legend of a Cypress king who sculpted a statue of the sea nymph Galatea. So real and beautiful was the statue to Pygmalion, he fell helplessly in love with it and spent the rest of his life adoring it.

The Krewe of Pygmalion is New Orleans’ newest parading organization comprised of both men and women, which parades the first weekend of the Carnival season.
