Get your bourbon on all September long at two of New Orleans’ elite bars: Jack Rose and Bayou Bar! In celebration of National Bourbon Heritage Month, both bars are featuring new Private Select barrels of Maker’s Mark. The team also created a specialty craft cocktail, called Margie’s Mark, “to highlight the unique flavor profile of the exclusive bourbon.” The cocktail will run as a special all month long to coincide with Bourbon Heritage.
In preparation of this special month, Bayou Bar and Jack Rose bartenders both spent several days crafting the perfect bourbon in a distillery’s limestone cellar for 9 weeks. The finished product is called Jack Rose Maker’s Select – a customized barrel. Joe Tangney, the head bartender at the Pontchartrain Hotel said the experience was “absolutely stunning.”
Jack Rose & Bayou Bar are both located at the Pontchartrain Hotel, 2031 St. Charles Avenue. Make sure you add a visit to your list for September, especially if you are a bourbon lover!
