Parking in New Orleans is pretty hard. We don’t have tons and tons of open spaces, and when we do find an open space, sometimes we don’t read the signs correctly. I must say I’ve been guilty of this multiple times over the past few years.
The results are normally what you think they would be, a parking ticket. The New Orleans meter maids are bountiful and ruthless in their selections. This is especially the case during Mardi Gras season when spots uptown and downtown are almost impossible to find.
