Doombalaya Puts the Fun in Funk at Bear Creek Fest [Photo Gallery]

Doombalaya recently took the Ballroom Stage at Bear Creek Bayou Music Festival and gave fans exactly what they needed to get the day started right. As one of the most underrated acts of the festival, this band brought the perfect amount of funky rock to kick-off Saturday of Bear Creek. Their stage energy is so fun, its completely contagious. It’s refreshing to see artists enjoying themselves on stage just as much as their fans are, and really allows fans to pick up on the individual personalities of the band members.

When so many uniquely talented individuals are able to mesh this well as a simultaneous unit, the results are astounding. If you are able to see a Doombalaya live performance, you will no doubt be in awe of the collective talent of this group. As a driven group of young men (and woman), don’t let this 11-member group overwhelm you, their sounds blend together for a mix that is both unique and seamless. The most notable part of a Doombalaya performance is their extensive wind/horn ensemble. They use a wide variety of instruments including the EWI (electric wind instrument), flute, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, alto saxophone, trumpet, and trombone. And that only covers half of the band! The band also includes keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums. Paired with their vocalist ringing out earth-shattering notes, Doombalaya always delivers an experience unlike any you’ve ever seen.

Be sure to keep up with this band and their uniquely driven sound that is constantly sampling styles from all corners of the globe. Check out these photos we got from Doombalaya’s set at Bear Creek Bayou Music Festival:
