Looking for a new Mardi Gras ball with a heavy twist on modern sounds? Then Carnivoid is for you. Hosted by the four-piece headliner The Iceman Special, the event features the dynamic duo of Break Science, TBC Brass Band, and some unannounced special guests. Kicking off on Friday, February 11 at The Joy Theater, Carnivoid is the debut Mardi Gras ball for the Fete du VOID organizers.
Fans of Fete du VOID, the Annual 2 Day Camping, Music & Arts getaway, led by The Iceman Special, will feel at home during the brand new Carnivoid. The event promises Mardi Gras costumes, masks, and a feel of a “modern” music ball.

Along with The Iceman’s unique blend of tunes, the event features a jam-packed lineup, plus “many many many more unpredictable backassward bewildering surprises.” Those who love the groovy sounds of the Break Science will be in luck, as this is the first time in almost four years they have played in New Orleans.
The Iceman Special
If you are unfamiliar with The Iceman Special, their unique blend of funk ‘n’ groove screams major New Orleans energy. Screeching yet smooth guitars, wandering yet punchy bass lines, electronic synth samples, driving drum beats, and powerful vocals. Throw in some disco and good old rock ‘n roll and you’ve got some seriously danceable jams with a little edge.
Carnivoid 2022 is held at The Joy Theater. Fans of the event can purchase tickets by heading to the Joy’s website HERE. Doors open at 8 pm, and the show starts at 9 pm.
