Kick Off Jazz Fest in Style with Manic Focus (LIVE), Russ Liquid, and More

Kicking off the widely acclaimed New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, River Beats Entertainment proudly presents… Manic Focus (LIVE) with supporting acts, Marvel Years, Daily Bread, Dino Brawl, and special guest Russ Liquid.

This knockout roster will be performing at Republic NOLA on Thursday, April 27th. The event acts as a perfect segue from the electronic music that typically dominates this venue and the classically funky, eclectic line-up of the historic festival held at the Fair Grounds Race Course (April 28 – May 7).

For this very special performance, Manic Focus, an artist known for his unparalleled soulful bass music, will be teaming up with Russ Liquid–the producer mastermind behind the New Orleans-based electronic band, The Russ Liquid Test (on the 2017 Jazz Fest line-up). Both artists have released music on GRiZ’s All Good Records. And, thus, they are the embodiment of this growing movement to harmonize the freedom of electronic production with the soulful power of funk music.

Where Electronic meets Funk and Soul…

Separately, both Manic Focus and Russ Liquid demonstrate the continuous evolution of the funk and electronic genres through their music. This opportunity to witness them share a stage together here in New Orleans is just another step forward on their mission of bridging this gap between generations and between genres. Another known for his glitch-hop/electro-soul style and fresh off the release of his new EP, Marvel Years will be performing along with Colby Buckler, of Emancipator fame, to add yet another layer of talent and soul to this amalgamated sound.

Whether you are already a fan or a newcomer, this is a show you won’t want to miss this April. Maybe this will be your first chance to see Manic Focus and Russ Liquid perform together. Maybe Dino Brawl or Daily Bread will make you dance with their infectious energy. Maybe you’ll discover a domain of music that you can really connect with and inspires you, even though you had no idea this music was out there.

Well now you can find out. Tickets for the show on April 27th are available here. More info can also be found on the official event page. Come explore with us!
