Views from the Samedi Room at Gris-Gris

The Samedi Room is named after Baron Samedi (sahm-dee), a loa (or spirit) of Haitian Voodoo and Louisiana Voodoo. Samedi is the known as the master of the dead or giver of life. Married to Maman Brigitte, caretaker of cemeteries, the Baron is ultimately responsible for an individual’s resurrection or transportation to the underworld. His outrageous behavior and passion for food, drinks, and entertaining all spirits is an inspiration to the vibe at Gris-Gris, where we say… “I’ll dance at your funeral, if you dance at mine.” For more information or to book your next private event, email events@grisgrisnola.com

Tujague’s

Celebrate your event in one of the oldest restaurants in the United States, and the second oldest in New Orleans. Their newly renovated 3-story restaurant offers 6 dining rooms, all of which are beautifully decorated in traditional New Orleans and Tujague’s décor, dating back to our opening in 1865, and can accommodate events for 10 – 300 guests. The Krewe of Iris room is our favorite, but there’s plenty of options pending your capacity. View all of Tujague’s availability here

Couvant

Couvant’s courtyard is worthy enough of its own spotlight, but there is an indoor private dining space in Couvant for more intimate luncheons, social events, and other friendly gatherings. The restaurant recently reopened at the helm of a new Chef, and is located inside The Eliza Jane Hotel. Inquire for private dining options at Couvant here.
