The University of New Orleans has suspended all face-to-face classes for the time being due to COVID-19. All classes and coursework will be moved online until the coronavirus transmission has slowed down, starting this coming Monday. The university will also cancel any sponsored events on campus that exceed more than 50 attendees.
Students that live on campus in dorms have been given the option to remain there or head back home. Those that work on campus are expected to report to work as usual.
“While none of the presumptive positive cases of Covid-19 in Orleans Parish is connected to the University of New Orleans community — as far as we know — it is imperative that we take decisive action before the outbreak becomes more widespread in our area. We are implementing these reasonable, science-based safeguards in an effort to protect our campus community and to improve the public health of our city.”
