Talk about a packed week of events. French Quarter Festival recently announced it will move the dates for next years festival to April 16 – 19, the weekend before Jazz Fest. The festival is making room for the NCAA Women’s Final Four basketball tournament that will take place April 3 – 5 at the Smoothie King Center.
The festival will conclude about four days before the start of the 2020 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which plans to host its 51st annual festival from April 23 to May 3. With the date move, the festival is looking to keep the strain on the city resources at a minimal.
Residents and guests of New Orleans should celebrate this news, as the two spring festivals are the biggest New Orleans has to offer. French Quarter Fest brought in 800,000 guests, while Jazz Fest housed over 500,000 guests.
