COVID-19 has taken another New Orleans favorite. Ghost Manor, the mansion located on Magazine Street that goes above and beyond for Halloween every year, will not return this year. In a Facebook group dedicated to the Irish Channel neighborhood, they shared that this year would have been its ninth season getting in the spirit of the holiday, but it is not responsible for them to bring back the innovative spectacle this year.
The post also explains that there is no “practical way” they can monitor social distancing or other measures on a “public sidewalk.” However, all is not lost! They will still decorate the house for Halloween, but plan for it to be more of a “static display.”
We’ll miss you this year, Ghost Manor. See you in 2021.
